Mark Humphreys, originally a toolmaker by trade, started his own tiling business which he ran successfully for 18 years.
He is now a recognised industry journalist writing for magazines such as Tile UK and Professional Builder. He has also written articles for many national newspapers.
Mark and Tony Fullick have now written the new CAA award for the City & Guilds and Construction skills alliance.
Mark advises on the GPC, (General Practices Committee) for TTA (The Tile Association), and also is a board member of Construction skills London which is jointly owned by one of the largest construction colleges in the UK - CONEL (the College Of North East London).
He has designed all of the courses for Specialist Training Courses himself and is a second Dan Black belt in Karate.
