Here is a selection of some of the commonly asked questions we get regarding our tiling courses and training centres.
Why should I choose PTS over anybody else?
We are the countries largest leading training centre, the difficulty is that you are going to make a career decision based upon a website, a brochure or a phone call and we all seem to offer the same things. Our best advice if you are not sure is simply visit the centres and compare them. Ask to see testimonials and proof of success rates, we even keep feedback forms from every student that you can read.
What qualification will I get at PTS?
Due to the success of PTS students our own certificate is recognised widely throughout the industry within the UK and even internationally (please ask for details). For NVQ certification please click here for more information.
Can we visit the centre before making a decision?
Yes we openly encourage people to visit before making a decision to talk to us and our current students.
I am travelling a fair distance, is there accommodation nearby?
Yes we have an agreement with a local hotel just a few minutes from the traiing centre to provide accommodation for you if required at a cost of around £25.00 / night.
I am planning to fly in to Stansted Airport, can I book in advance and how far are you from the airport?
You can book as far in advance as you require to get your cheap flights! We are about 15 minutes by car from the airport so flying is a very viable option, we can arrange accommodation and have provided a map and directions you can give the taxi driver
Do I need to wear special clothing?
No special clothing is required just working shoes and work wear / overalls, something comfortable that you can work in that you dont mind getting dirty.
Do I need to bring any equipment / tools?
No just turn up with suitable clothing, we will supply all the tools, equipment and tiles that you will require for the course.
Are there any extra charges?
No all our courses include the cost of all tiles and materials, so there are no extra charges.
Do you teach under floor heating as part of the course?
Yes our 2 & 4 Week courses (and occasional specialist weekend courses) will also show you how to install backing board and under floor heating system.
Will I get a recognised qualification?
Due to the length of our courses you will not get a recognised qualification like an NVQ as these take months to attain, you will however get a certificate to show that you have attained the PTS Training Tiling Centre and the quality of your work will show your skills better than any piece of paper can! We can arrange to get you an NVQ qualification if required.

Can I really take up tiling as a profession?
If you are prepared to put in the hard work we will give you the training to set you on your way, we can also help you with setting up trade accounts, the business, marketing yourself etc. We also provide a FREE advice line Monday to Friday to give you the backup you require.
Can we purchase tools at the training centre?
Yes you can purchase tools at very competitive prices from the training centre from a number of leading brands.
