PTS Training Tiling Courses
NVQ / Site Work
This is a qualification for site work and may become a legal requirement in the future for building sites. On completion of our two or four week course, we are confident that you will be able to obtain your NVQ and the registration can be done through PTS. Please do not be confused into thinking that an NVQ can be achieved whilst on any short course or even due to the fact that some short course training centres have NVQ assessors working for them. We also employ NVQ assessors as instructors but it does not alter the way you apply for your NVQ. The process is straightforward though...1. On completion of our course you will have started your own business.
2. You will then be registered with the CITB and an NVQ assessor, for an induction to assess your tiling knowledge.
3. You will collect and save evidence (photographs) of your work.
4. An assessor will visit you on site so there will be little or no down time involved.
5. When the assessor is satisfied you will be awarded your certificate.
An NVQ is a skills test combined with underpinning knowledge not a written exam.
Usually this will have an additional cost attached including all registration and assessment fees however you may be pleasantly surprised to find funding available subject to criteria. Please call Mark Humphreys for more details on eligibility criteria on 01279 865843.
CSCS Cards
At present to work on most construction sites you will need to show health and safety knowledge and awareness with a CSCS card (construction site certification scheme) We are a registered centre with Thomson prometric to deliver these tests and issue the cards if you require one. this can be done during your course.Domestic Work
At PTS we train you to work in the higher skilled domestic market for which you do not need to be NVQ qualified. However, the level of skill that you will achieve at PTS means that you can apply for an NVQ at any time in the future or we can do it for you."In my 18 years of experience tiling only in the domestic market I was never asked for a certificate, the quality of your work speaks for itself!"
